Dual Frequency is the musical collaboration of Tom Hanson (Vocals/guitar) and Steve Lagarto (Percussion/vocals). They began performing together in early 2024 when Tom asked Steve if he would join him for a gig on St. Patrick’s Day. Since then, they never looked back and Dual Frequency was born! Their diverse musical repertoire and natural onstage chemistry are the key ingredients that create their entertaining live show. Tom Hanson is a lifelong singer and guitarist with a passion for performing. His musical journey has lead him to playing a multitude of bars & clubs, private events, and weddings across greater New England, as well as the VIP and Second Stage areas at Xfinity Center, and even cruise ships. Tom’s diverse musical repertoire covers a wide variety of genres including Rock, Pop, Alternative, Folk, and Finger-style. Blues legend James Montgomery hailed him as “one of the best acoustic acts I’ve ever seen!”
Outside of Dual Frequency, Tom still performs regularly as a soloist as well as the premier private entertainment group, The Sultans.
Steven Lagarto is graduate of the Berklee School of Music where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. Steve also received his Masters of Science Degree in Education from the University of New England. He recently retired from teaching music in the Taunton Public School System where he taught at Parker Middle School for 15 years and Taunton High School for 20 years.
Steve has also taught private instrumental lessons and has performing experience from playing in orchestras for various musicals, jazz bands, and classic rock/dance/wedding bands such as “The Knights”, “Peace of Mind”, “Overnite”, “Savanna and Co.”, “Streamline” and “Nuance”.
